Chameleon Hill Lodge At Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Luxury)-Overview

Chameleon Hill Lodge is situated in Kisoro Southwest part of Uganda between Mgahinga national park and Bwindi impenetrable national park. It is located on the shores of one of East Africa’s most beautiful lakes, Lake Mutanda, enabling visitors to enjoy spectacular views across the lake with its islands and surrounding hills. The lodge offers a special blend of comfort and relaxation, where attention to detail and personalized service are paramount. As well as being the perfect base to visit the mountain gorillas, one can also enjoy a trip on the hand-built boat available for excursions.

Accommodation At Chameleon Hill Lodge Comprises;

  • A total of 10 luxury chalets with five double rooms and five twins; There are two beds in the twin room, one large bed in double rooms and an extra bed also available on request for double rooms.
  • Each room has its own unique charm and character, with its own color scheme and private garden, they all share stunning views across the lake.
  • Each chalet is equipped with a modern en-suite bathroom and apparently the best showers in Uganda with a panorama window to enjoy the lake and volcanoes even when you shower
  • Early morning tea or coffee brought to your room so you can take in the views sitting on your spacious veranda before going for breakfast, gorilla tracking or any of our other activities.

Facilities At Chameleon Hill Lodge Include;

  • Dining, Lounge & Bar; the spacious dining area with the adjacent wooden deck on top of the hill, offers a bird’s eye view over the lake and beyond.
  • The walls are decorated with colorful art and for those chilly evenings, there is a romantic fireplace to make sure the ambience is perfect.
  • Chameleon Hills’ reputation for delicious food has travelled far and wide; a fusion of different cultures, herbs and spices.
  • Chefs are great at using the best local produce, mostly grown in lodge’s organic garden, to create fantastic dishes.
  • Dinners are 3 courses. The starter is often a delicious fresh soup, e.g. cinnamon pumpkin or cream of mushroom, or Moses signature dish: chilly & honey egg duo, followed by a hearty main dish.
  • Some of the lodge favorites are charcoal roasted Ankole beef steak served with crispy parsley potatoes and mixed veggies. Or glazed chicken breasts served with Arabic rice and buttered vegetables.
  • Breakfasts are designed to set guests up for the day. There is always a selection of fresh fruit, fruit juice, homemade muesli & yoghurt, pancakes with a hint of lemon zest, eggs of your choice and the full fry up with our wood-oven baked bread.
  • The kitchen can cater for any dietary requirements, be it vegetarian, gluten free, vegan or lactose intolerant.
  • The lounge area; with a stylish cement sofa, a soft couch and inviting armchairs spreads a sense of coziness.
  • Fireplace; the fireplace is lit and you bring back memories of your gorilla tracking experience earlier that day with a glass of wine in front of you.
  • The bar is extremely well-stocked so it is more than likely we can serve your favorite drink with a bowl of homemade nibbles. The wine list boasts many South African wines and a few Australian and French.
  • Massages; the lodge offers full body massage, Swedish massage, Legs & Shoulders Head & Shoulders
