In Uganda, every tribe has its story of existence and so do the Batwa pygmies, adding to the list of amazing things to see in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Traditionally the interior of Bwindi was home to these Batwa people.

They believe that their creator gave some people height, others prosperous land, but when he got to the Batwa, there were no more such gifts, and so he gave them the rainforest.

The Batwa lived in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest peacefully and happily as hunters, gatherers, and fierce warriors.

They depended on the forest for shelter, firewood, and herbs as medicine for thousands of years.

Due to the prominent Bwindi Gorilla conservation efforts, the Batwa are now leaving outside Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, learning farming and other economic activities for survival.
